I came across someone saying they were proud of all the protesting they did when they were younger and that’s fine.
Anyway, one of the things they listed was being proud of stopping America from going into nuclear power and let me just share that this attitude and movement set us back pretty far on clean power and it’s good to look into why. 1/2
@TonyStark@RiaResists The major problem I have with nuclear is that MY STATE is where all y'all dump your damned nuclear waste. So until you can figure out what to do with it that DOES NOT INCLUDE USING MY STATE AS YOUR GARBAGE CAN IMMA GO WITH NO.

Welp. The electricians I have been trying to hire refuse to answer the phone, don't even have a proper voicemail greeting, and apparently refuse to call potential customers back. Gonna have to find someone else.
Okay, this might sound weird, but this is what I'm thinking of today. I'm assuming most of you know the idiom, "Don't look a gift horse in the mouth." I know it's about looking at the horse's teeth to check it's age and health, but in my heart I have an alternate history where it's about The Trojan Horse, which doesn't really even make much sense, but it's still living there rent free.
So, does anyone else do this, make up alternate histories for words or phrases? If you do, I'd love examples!
You know why nobody talks about “garage inventors” anymore? Besides the fact that nobody can afford a garage anymore, it’s also due to changes in patent law that congress approved that largely cripples small inventors with a “first to file” rule that makes it way too easy for big companies to basically make off with any good idea by patenting a defensible variant using their biggest advantage: lots of money to spend on lawyers.
@shoq I "invent" useful crap all the time to help myself in my own life. Some are good enough to be a product, but why do it? There's no point for this reason. The second you make a sale, a copycat is up on Temu or whatever the next day. It's a terrible rat race.
I dated a guy for about a week when I was a teenager and I just googled him and found a YouTube video of him doing standup comedy which is interesting because I don’t remember him being particularly funny and the video serves as proof that he still isn't.
I’m clearly going to need to get a hutch for the kitchen. Looking online, I saw some nice ones from Wayfare, but I’ll be damned if I’ll spend one penny on something from a business that provided bunk beds to the detention centers that the Trump administration put the stolen immigrant children in. So I’ll keep on looking. Suggestions for something under $500 with drawers, a shelf and cupboards welcome.
