@massivelyop How normal am I about my MMO characters? I dunno, I don't really think of them as being separate from me, so I guess -- how normal do I think of myself as being? And the answer there is -- not very. That said, I don't have them live imaginary wibderful lives apart from when I am playing them. Just extensions of me. So in another sense, I guess my characters might be far too normal.

I used to roleplay but then someone would always want it to turn weird.

@massivelyop It's called "paying the subscription" or "buying the game". Same BS when I was working doing backend work for a company that made graphics applications. The UI developers were superstars. The people making their work possible got nothing. I quit that company.

CDN update!

7 days in and we've got some interesting stats. Half a terabyte of bandwidth per week is definitely manageable from a cost perspective. And serving up nearly a million requests at almost 90% cache hit rate is phenomenal.

That said, there have been snags. The number of members here experiencing image load problems is significant, and it should have been something that I anticipated and planned for. If there's a lesson to learn, it's this one.
