@Vivaldi When I wake my MacBook from sleep, keyboard shortcuts in Vivaldi don’t work until I restart the browser. (At least I think it is sleep that is the trigger, but not completely sure there is a correlation between computer sleep and lost shortcuts.)

I'm about to start using for the first time, to make the development of my new site a bit easier. Learning both and modern leads to a lot of manual rollbacks I hope will become easier.

I've read a lot about Git, but one question lingers still: I’m building my site based on Base Blog, in a repo I cloned using Desktop.

How do I disconnect (or whatever the technical term is) from the original Github repo and turns it into a private of my own?

While building my new site in , which is a new tool for me, I wonder if it’s time for me to learn and as well.

I notice that I over and over again make a backup copy of a Nunjucks partial or my eleventy.config.js before trying something (that more often than not breaks some things). And sometimes I lose track on where I’m in my dev process.

Would I benefit from version control? Any relevant tutorials to share?

My favorite way to learn new things is by looking at other people's real-life code. It's the modern view-source .

@mxbck I couldn’t agree more! I’m just getting started with 11ty and have learnt a ton that way.

(Next up is learning about Git or something so that I can do the same with my site once it’s done!)

So, I’m soon adding the final touches to looks and functions of my first site.

But at least one question remains unanswered: I would like this setup to feature both a Swedish and an English site, with some differences in color scheme and a couple of minor things. But I also expect that the bulk of future development will be used on both sites.

How do I go about this in the best way?

I just realized that the move over here, to Mastodon, has increased the number of great blogs I discover for my RSS reader.

Is this a Mastodon vs Twitter thing, an uptick in blog activity over the last year or so, or something else?

Can't get my head around this. Anyone in the # community who can help?

When I try to use the Image plugin, 11ty throws me an error about non-existing path. But using the same path and file name in a standard <img> tag works just fine.

What am I missing? :)

POLL: Suppose sponsors supported your local Fediverse instance in return for a set number of ads per hour (20 or less), and never with an algorithm positioning them. And the ads stay local to that community and don’t federate.

Is this a reasonable proposition to offset the costs of communities?

@shoq Sounds a bit like how adverts in media used to work: “Buy a page in the magazine with the readers you want to reach” is, at least in theory, similar to “buy an ad ona fediverse server with users you want to reach”.
