In the last 24 hours, there has been a clear increase in all military attacks across Gaza, starting with the Daraj neighbourhood of Gaza City. A four-storey building was completely destroyed, killing at least 16 Palestinians, including 10 children. An evacuation centre was also targeted.

Israeli newspaper Haaretz reports that Defense Minister Gallant has announced he will expand the law to allow Israeli settlers, who were evicted during a 2005 disengagement plan, to return to settlements in the occupied West Bank.

Settlers are Israeli citizens who live illegally on private Palestinian land in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem. The vast majority of the settlements have been built either entirely or partially on private Palestinian land.

Israeli forces shell gates of Kamal Adwan Hospital

Israeli tanks have fired several rounds at the gates of the emergency department, Wafa news agency reports, citing Hossam Abu Sfiya, the director of the hospital in Jabalia refugee camp, north Gaza.

Local sources also report that the hospital is currently being evacuated of wounded, patients and medical staff.

The hospital has been under siege by Israeli forces since May 19.

At least seven people, including a doctor and a teacher on their way to work, as well as a ninth-grade student, have been killed by Israeli gunfire, reports the Wafa news agency. Other people killed were also civilians.

An additional 12 people, including several students and a journalist, have been injured, two of them critically, according to #Wafa.

Al-Awda Hospital in northern Gaza has been under siege since 19 May, with no one allowed to leave or enter; 148 hospital staff, 22 patients and their companions are still trapped inside.

Medical staff inside the hospital reported an attack on 20 May, with snipers aiming at the building and an artillery rocket hitting its fifth floor, according to dr Tedros.
