1/ "Outliers" by @ateliergenart was released today on .

The mints that are now incoming are the manifestation of the hard work that the artists @nclslbrn , @chempathy_nft, @seigneurrrr and @lammetje_nl, and curators/editors @aether and @pixel0symphony put into it.

Here's a short thread to show off these projects together with other beautiful stuff I found there today.

2/ "Aqueduct " by @nclslbrn and "Harmony In Motion #7" by @uinges_art

The mesmerizing animation of Aqueduct's curves of self-reflecting data, and the isometric, orthogonal extrusions of "Harmony In Motion" feel like they convey a comparable level of data abstraction. After all, in neither project I'm actually sure what it is that I'm seeing.

But that's OK, and as Uinges puts it: "(…)the viewer's interpretation of the final result has just begun"!

Collage of two video loops of abstract digital artworks. On the left is "Aqueduct " that consists of 11 undulating waves on top of each other. Each is made up of segments in different colours and sizes, mostly red, light blue and muted green. The background is a deep purple that appears almost black. On the right is "Harmony In Motion #7", an animation of a irregular, stylized construction of light blue isometric girders arranged in right angles being extruded from smaller starting elements. The background is a mid grey.

3/ "Calx " by @lammetje_nl and "Coral " by @RalenArc

Calx' exuberant lines and bright colours express a bodiless vitality. In Coral, the same tones of orange, brown and red represent the calcinated substance that Calx alludes to.

The juxtaposition of these two works makes me contemplate the balance between mankind's constant desire to leave a mark on the world and the dire consequences this behavior can have for fragile ecosystems.

4/ "iskwtr #9" by @chempathy_nft and "Calx " by @lammetje_nl

Ed (Ch=mpathy) recreated a squatter neighborhood in Manila as a generative artwork, and I think that the random rendering process mirrors the unplanned construction in these places. Despite the beauty of the outputs, the visible lack of municipal infrastructure is probably not an artful simplification, but a fact of life.

I put it next to a beautiful, subdued iteration of Calx.

5/ "Bravata #7" by @seigneurrrr (Omar Lobato) and "ALIYE " by @spinkdinky

Soft floral textures and energetic red dashes convey a sense of fluent harmony when it's hardest to find: when we're "free falling" and feel "human and deeply uncertain, yet somehow still hopeful".

On the other hand, ALIYE's complex, ethereal web connects colours and shapes that represent human bonds grown over the years, and in this case, the ones that the artist built—with us!

6/ The other writers of Atelier and I wrote in–depth articles about each of the four drops that were part of the collective's group show "Outliers" (https://www.ateliergen.art/gazette).

To find links to the other projects I mentioned, you can take a look at my current Deca gallery "xifh" that shows all of them together (https://deca.art/boringoldguy/xifh).

Atelier just published my article about “Calx”, a beautiful project by @lammetje_nl to be released on @fx_hash_ on Dec 4th.

Lammetje is part of the “Outliers” group show curated by @pixel0symphony and @aethersovereign.

A beautiful pairing of two special pieces of that I found today:

Die Maschine: Schnittdarstellung #5 by Geoffrey Crayon and A @wblut postcard - 231125 by @wblut

Both impressed me with a high level of detail and the amazing technical aesthetics; they now are part of my current semi–chronological gallery of recently collected artworks.

Constraint by Eric Andwer is a visual commentary on the hard-to-find balance between structure and freedom. The variety and beauty of the images is mind blowing.

I created an annotated gallery on Deca where I shared some of my thoughts about it and compiled my favourite outputs.

Collage of four abstract, digital artworks. The images are minimal in composition and show vibrant colours.

I'm excited to announce that I've joined @aether, @pixel0symphony and @earl__reno in the Atelier collective, where I'll be writing in-depth pieces about their curated artists!

I wonder how many of my 900 followers are actually active on Bluesky. Probably only a fraction 🤔😢

boringold,
@boringold@genart.social avatar

@WeavingWithAI I'm not; it feels so lonely (because of the invitation only access) and static (because there are no videos)...

boringold,
@boringold@genart.social avatar

@WeavingWithAI @boringold Defintely. Not only on Bluesky, Mastodon has some, too (different, but still…), and I'll rather not talk about X…🙈

A new pairing of from my collection:

"Fx(hash) Generative Birthday Candle " by @pifragile and "Victorious shade" by Juan Zapata are both images of celebration.

Although the soft gradients of the former appear as the opposite of the later's blocky, pixelated composition, the images are visually connected by their use of colours.

"Glass ceiling" by @natehillphoto and "Hospital room " by Shirasu Nejio make me feel like we're seeing the same turbulent sky in both. Nate Hill's liminal landscape and the situation Shirasu Nejio describes in his artwork's description make both appear even more haunting through this juxtaposition.

1/4 A Pile, To Be Sorted by @spinkdinky (Chris McCully) combines a visualization of life's complexity with a metaphorical pursuit of clarity into captivating, vibrant, abstract pieces of art.

The artist dedicated it to his father and, in doing so, paid tribute to a piece of advice that he gave: To tackle life's challenges one small step at a time.

2/4 In an age where overwhelming responsibilities and commitments can leave us feeling swamped, Chris McCully's homage to his father's words is a reminder of the power of a single step.

The advice to break down the pile of life's challenges into manageable tasks and focus on one at a time is a lesson that many can relate to. It's a universal message that makes A Pile, To Be Sorted not just a visual treat but also a source of inspiration.

(in my collection)

boringold,
@boringold@genart.social avatar

3/4 The artwork shows its inspiration in the concept of being overwhelmed, with its vivid, chaotic colors and jagged, intersecting layers. It reflects the intricacy of life's demands and how they can blend into an indistinguishable mass.

Yet, as McCully Senior suggests, by picking one task and focusing on it, we can begin to make sense of the chaos and watch the pile shrink. Each task, each responsibility, takes on its own unique shape and colour.

4/4 In A Pile, To Be Sorted, we find not just a visually captivating piece but also a reflection on life's challenges. It encourages us to embrace the pile in front of us, break it down, and find clarity amidst the chaos.

And the outputs look really good big on a wall.

It looks like color bleeding cities ! by Valentin Goulmy has some nice palettes and a wide range of complexity that you can play around with. It's a parameter based mint on and still open (just don't try a custom palette, that will result in a dud).

There's a goose hidden in De Mémoire De Fleur by Pierre Comet that I'm pretty sure isn't in the other iterations.

Can you see its head peeking out from between the flowers near the middle of the image?

These iterations of Pipe Dream by @tezumies and The most important meal of the day by @uluiq12 go along so well!

I like how both show vibrant colours and clean shapes, yet approach it from quite different perspectives (literally). Both are among the first additions to kimp, the next chapter of my semi–chronological galleries.

@autoeclectus Love it, too! It reminds me of comets and fungal spores. Probably the second one is a group of weird blobs meeting in the forest.

Another random, semi–chronological pairing of two works:

NihonBot by Cyborg (cybxrg.tez/Cyborg_AiArt) and Pendulum by @lukas_trips

I see these works connected; fractal attention — robot with patience to watch the endlessly looping animation of a fractal structure.

To see an entire world where others don't. Something that artists and kids have in common. I love how the splash of rainbow colours adds a highlight to both the generative forest and the puddle of mud.

A pairing of recent :

Trees V2 by Dentro and glitch in the mud by Akzego
