Another random pairing of :

Roadtrip polaroids by Herkki Erich Merila (merilaarium/shadowscaper/PostChromaatic) and Stir by @francescoforcellini

The later feels to me like a close–up of the fabric of the dress from the former.

Nice pair of Linear Perturbations by bravokiloecho (Ben Elwyn)! I love how these two mints differ from each other, but still show their common roots (cold/warm tones, blurred/precise lines).

Good morning with a semi–random pairing that I'm quite fond of (i.e. the artworks appeared in the chronological list of my recent acquisitions next to each other, and I think that that works really well):

How to Construct a Time Machine V (Lightspeed) by @mrprudence (thank you, Paul, for the gift) and ANIM.RUN by N0VATIK

1/ Truth is an exhibition of projects on . Curated by @ajberni, it is centered around the overarching theme of ambiguity of scales and dimensions.

Seven artists created images with impressive levels of detail and beauty that visualize the interconnectedness of the world surrounding us. By challenging our perception of scale and boundaries, they explore the concept of “inner truth”.

2/ Dactylogram by @D_VISION7

This project is a testament to the artist's remarkable ability to craft a world that is both impressively varied and exquisitely detailed. As we dive deeper into these images with a full zoom, we are reminded of the awe-inspiring short film Powers of Ten referenced by Adam Berninger in the exhibition notes.

3/ Each image could be seen as anything from microscopic views of cellular tissue to satellite views of coastal areas.

Thanks to their high resolution, the images can be zoomed in extensively, causing shifts in perception and interpretation. The sense of ambiguity of scales that this causes serves as a powerful tool to underscore the interconnectedness of our world across all scales.

4/ inter/sections by @lisaorth

This project’s overlapping, complex line patterns bear the unmistakable signature of Lisa Orth’s artistic style. At the same time, they embrace the exhibition’s theme of scales and perspective in an exploration of shared perspectives and the fusion of divergent viewpoints into a harmonious whole.

5/ Visually, this project delighted me with occasional moiré patterns and unique images when rare colour palettes and random patterns met in unexpected ways.

6/ Metamosaic by @teaboswell

At a first glance, Metamosaic presents itself as deceptively simple: the arrangements of squares of varying sizes remind us of pixelated images that have been reduced in resolution until no detail or structure is visible anymore.

However, the huge dimensions of the images open up the possibility to zoom in, and this reveals progressively smaller repetitions of the same squares and colours, resembling the intricate patterns found in fractals.

7/ This seeming contradiction of a lo-res appearance with nearly unlimited hidden details makes us think about the discoveries we can make when either taking a step back or taking a closer look.

The project is an “abstracted exploration of contrasting units whose randomness is accentuated so far that they ultimately highlight the profound similarity and unity that transcends vastly differing scales” (from the artist’s notes to the project).

8/ filum by Ella Hoeppner

The project begins with a number of simple circles, from which organic-looking threads sprout, probably lending the artwork its name.

At times, the resulting images bear resemblance to bouquets of flowers, evoking a sense of natural beauty. In other instances, they take on a technical and intricate quality, reminiscent of colorful spirographs.

9/ Instead of static images, we witness the gradual generation of the artworks, and the artistic process becomes an integral part of the concept.

We get to explore the process of growth, and each moment captured reflects a unique state, while the layered composition bears evidence of past experiences and influences.

The project is a testament to the power of beginnings, where even the simplest of origins can give rise to complex and organic results.

10/ A broken symmetry — the cat's parabola by @hal09999

From the moment I discovered the artist’s digital artworks on fx(hash), I was thrilled by the abstract, scientifically inspired pieces. They were visually appealing and intellectually stimulating, with references to astronomy and quantum physics that left my mind spinning.

This project again merges science and philosophy and offers us a journey into a quasi-simulated particle experiment on an undefined scale.

boringold,
@boringold@genart.social avatar

11/ The deliberate lack of a dimensional context is what makes the images even more special: each artwork has the potential to be the latest discovery of the James Webb Space Telescope or a simulation of subatomic quantum mechanics.

12/ Cunieform by @presstube x @bzor

The project is a tribute to the multiplicity of languages, whether verbal, written, or visual, and how they offer insights into the shared truths and common experiences that unite us all. The artists imagine language as something growing from within each of us, rather than something invented by us, and their wide range of inspirations show in many aspects of the resulting images.

boringold,
@boringold@genart.social avatar

13/ The cascading chaos of Cunieform brings to mind cellular automata, Christmas trees or ASCII art. Symbols and shapes emerge from the patterns, and the high-resolution outputs reveal Presstube's signature symbols as the universal building blocks of it all.

I see this as a reference to ancient cuneiform script and as a testament to the universal nature of human expression and the common abstract concepts and shared building blocks that language is based on.

14/ Vitreous by @charlottedann

Underneath a layer of translucent bubbles lies a labyrinthine, angular grid that becomes only visible upon zooming in.

Inspired by the artist’s experience with fused glass, the lens–like structures create fascinating distortion. The warping of perception serves as a metaphor for the evolution of alternate perspectives — like different facets of our inner truths.

boringold,
@boringold@genart.social avatar

15/ Whether drops of water, cells, or glass lenses, the bubbles make the line work appear as long chains of molecules, fog, celestial constellations or cosmic nebulae.

Fitting the exhibition’s theme, these images possess a fascinating duality and have the potential to represent subjects on both a microscopic and astronomical scale. Initially, they might appear uniform and homogenous, yet upon closer examination reveal intricate details waiting to be discovered.

16/ Conclusion

In this collective exploration of generative art, the artists celebrate the interconnectedness of diverse elements and the ambiguity of scale. The artworks blur the boundaries between the microscopic and the cosmic and challenge our understanding of the universe's (and our own) underlying truths.

17/ Truth on Feral File reminds us of the world’s beauty not only on scales far beyond our immediate comprehension, where the threats and horrors of our shared reality appear miniscule.

It also subtly alludes to the potential for harmony when humanity acknowledges its common ground. Let’s hope that a time when this doesn’t feel like naive utopia will come eventually.

@WeavingWithAI Amazing that most of the objects from the prompt appear in one or more of the images, but none gets it right entirely. Anyway, that DALL-E 3 mostly understands such a long, complicated prompt is impressive.
