Fantastic to see such a good turn out at the Rust Manchester Meetup yesterday.

Two Codethings took to the stage, delivering interesting talks. Kiran Ostrolenk presented, "Introducing Rust CI for GitLab, a generic drop-in pipeline for Rust projects" and Will Salmon presented, "My open source camera, using rust with ffi and hardware."

We look forward to the next session.

Did you see our recent blog post?

We were recently asked by a client to write a 3-node distributed system in Rust, where each node runs a multistage pipeline in parallel and communicates with the other nodes throughout. The project ran to a short and tight schedule, with rolling deadlines by which pre-defined work packages had to be delivered.

The project was a success. Here are some of the lessons we learnt: https://buff.ly/3wt1CeI

As we celebrate International Women's Day, it seemed appropriate to reshare our recent blog about Outreachy.

Outreachy's goal is to increase diversity in open source. They do this by providing paid internships in open source and open science to people subject to systemic bias and impacted by underrepresentation in the tech industry.

In April last year, Codethink announced the Quality Assurance Daemon (QAD) tool: a lightweight Linux daemon designed to aid functional testing of software applications by interacting with the User Interface (UI) of an embedded system. We’ve recently made some enhancements to the tooling, and will be covering these in our latest blog post.
