@qurlyjoe How slow is the come-down and can you control where you land? This could be an issue if you're on the upper deck of a moving, open-air, tour bus. Am I overthinking this?

For those new to District 3 in San Francisco and are wondering what that staticky roaring noise is, it's thousands of firecrackers exploding. On this last day of the lunar year, as businesses in Chinatown close up for the evening, they will each set off a string of at least 1,000 firecrackers, which go off continuously for a full minute or more. 🧨

A string of several thousand red firecrackers going off for over two minutes, ending in a big explosion. The air is filled with smoke.

I took a walk down to sparkly Union Square. It was filled with happy people ice skating, taking pics, standing in line at Miller & Lux for fancy pastries, and riding the cable cars. The weather was mild and pleasant. You could spot the tourists, because they're all bundled up as if they're going to a Giants game. 😂

Who knew that buying pies at the hardware store would be something I'm thankful for? The Pie Company has 15 different varieties in the freezer at Cole Hardware. My house is currently filled with the aroma of freshly baked pumpkin pie.
