one of the key problems with an organization like @mozilla screaming "squirrel" and running after the tech bubble du jour is that it reduces the trustability of other resources they sponsor.

I was just looking at MDN docs for web APIs and once again remarked how nice it was to have a good reliable thorough resource for a very large API footprint and then I remembered the AI post. Immediately I started wondering how long I'll feel like it's a reliable resource if they're venturing into the realm of automated bullshit generation.

Like, you've done good. We're not asking you to do the rest of this shit now, just keep doing good. It's plenty.

of all the heinous, unthinkable, downright horrid things the tech industry has done to the world, the least significant yet most regularly annoying has to be the continuous forced adoption of the terms "alpha" and "beta" in relation to software by folks who are not in the tech industry.

the minute the first shmuck decided "hey let's just open up our beta test to all our customers" the tech industry proved it wasn't fully baked enough to be subjecting the world to its bullshit. we should have busted it to pieces right then and there.

pro tip, programmer jimmy: there's a very clear indicator for when I want my computer to do a particular thing. that indicator is as follows: I click the thing that says it will make the computer do the particular thing I want. there is no reason for the computer to try and guess in any way shape or form. I will inform it. stop trying to make computers guess. you ain't good at it.

Ellijay is pretty centrally located to Nashville, Knoxville, and Charlotte, and of course Atlanta is in our backyard, Athens and Augusta too.

it's ideally located for a nice sleepy mountain town live music scene to build and grow.

if your band has been looking for a base of operations change, there are worse places to choose by a long shot, like Los Angeles shudder.
