It’s always been obvious. Trump’s been a Russian operative–or a useful idiot for them–from the get-go. Remember 2016, when he openly requested that Putin interfere with our elections. Since then, it’s been a lovefest.
There's a reason adjudicated fraud, sexual abuser, defamer, and 88 felonies charged Trump cozies up to Putin. Putin helped Trump win his first term, and now Trump owes him. It was never about 'America First', it's always been about satisfying the dictator he's indebted to.
It all started in 1987 when the KGB paid for his trip to Moscow. In 2008 when Dmitry Rybolovlev bought his palm beach property for twice what trump had just paid for it…(and I have no doubt there are even earlier data points for when putin began grooming trump)…imagine how easy it must have been for a KGB agent to dupe him.
People on Twitter are debating whether a person using uncommon words like "delve" are trying to sound smarter than they are, or worse, are ChatGPT bots, because "normal" people don't talk like that.
You don't have to get upset, or embroiled in the debate. Not worth the time or attention. But I'll share some important context as your friendly neighborhood Nigerian 🙋🏿♂️
Many Nigerians have bigger English language vocabularies and better command of grammar than the typical American or English person
@DrALJONES
Rings true, though I don't like to give that guy any points. /IF/ this is influencing US foreign policy, they should consider that for a former colony, you can't have democracy without some kind of nationalism, raising a national flag in defiance of colonial power was the first thing democrats in Norway did, when they got the chance.
I hope that the US will realise that for long term stability and prosperity, democracy beats playing power-games with religious rulers any day.
@DrALJONES I get that, and I won't pester you with a long tedious debate, just like to say that /to me/ he comes off as denying the Ukrainian people agency, though I have not read him at length. It may well be that helping Ukraine furthers the interests of hawks in the US, but that is not the important aspect to me.
The New York Times is now visibly working -- from the "news" side of the operation -- to undermine Biden's re-election.
More than most of Big Journalism, it has been thumping the right-wing-generated "he's too old" drum even before the 2020 election. The poll published today, from my perspective, is designed to further a narrative that the so-called Paper of Record has done so much to create.
I thought a new top editor might be an improvement. Kahn has been, in fact, a disaster.

Lawrence O'Donell (paraphrased): The 1968 convention was exciting. Good TV. The Democrats lost to Nixon because of it. @dangillmor
It's a bit sad when people block you for a post without even looking at your bio. Liberals on Twitter are so used to trolls that they continue playing #WhackATroll in here. Not really understanding that some threads are people learning & collaborating.
Being free to discuss, even criticise Biden, as a way of understanding solutions to the fuckery facing us.
I get these "Fuck you Russian troll!" messages, then the account dissappear.
I hate Putin just as much as they do.
I also hate genocide.
@RustyBertrand I have to say I'm guilty as charged here (don't know if it was towards you or someone else). It's just sometimes my frustration boils over. I see somebody arguing in a way that makes the only logical conclusion be "tear the whole world down, all is lost anyway" makes me explode. ALL IS NOT LOST. Sometimes the people in power are doing the best they know how, moving the needle just a little in the right direction. Keep making yourself heard, and it has an effect, over time. 1/2
Du vet når man svelger en tablett, og det føles som at den setter seg fast i halsen? Hva er det egentlig som skjer da? Den setter seg jo ikke faktisk fast i halsen!?
