The studio for today: I had to find a way to get started again after a (for me) long break. Just realised that the pictures and I were very focussed downward - I guess I still have things to work out.

Several guitar pedals connected by cables are laid out on a patterned stone patio. An instrument cable leads to the guitar in the other picture. A Bluetooth speaker is on the right and a handy digital recorder is on the left.

And this is how it turned out! There are a few glitches here and there. One really noticable pause when I hit an effects switch, and there was a background noise/hum I think caused by battery-powering the recorder which I've pretty much taken out. Some wind noises too because I forgot to put a windshield on the mic. But on the whole I like that this is a little bit broken, because at the moment so am I and that's fine too.

@mxtthxw I’m still such a Vernon Reid fan - I remember spending far too long learning the solo for this off the album and then realising I had to never play it note for note.

Maybe this is the year I go back in that direction…

I really like C G D G B E - I think I got it via Richard Thompson a long time ago with a reference to people calling it “cello” tuning…

Sure it has other names and origins though

Managed a bit more time to play and realised I’d got a polarity problem on the fuzz, all fixed.
