Was looking for on old graph I had made 20 years ago about how tests can pass and the same time not having interop (one of the points of @bkardell recent post https://bkardell.com/blog/WPT-Dashboard.html ), but I could not find it (Eventually I will), but funny I found this about head elements used in body circa 2007 :D https://www.w3.org/2007/05/dom-head-body

We’ve always told devs that browsers prioritize what to implement based on dev demand.

There is one exception: #SVG.

SVG is used on >65% of websites. Yet, browsers have been refusing to work on SVG, ignoring pressure and pain points from web devs.

#StateOfHTML showed SVG as the top content pain point: https://2023.stateofhtml.com/en-US/features/content/#content_pain_points

Tons of work (SVG 2, fill & stroke, and more) has sat unimplemented for years. At this point, in standards circles, we know not to touch SVG with a barge pole.

For people who have hundred of tabs and can't remember where is the damn tab making noise.

TIL: On browser, Press Command and hover the mouse on one tab, the speaker icon is there, and you can mute ALL tabs.

Peace!

So I processed photos of that breakdance group I saw in Cracow and the side effect is that I started watching breakdance battles and windmill tutorials on YT.

And when I thought I've seen everything...

I found a six-year-old girl killing it on the floor.

I think I just nearly escaped a fraudulent website, thanks to my bank’s authorization step for a payment in Hong Kong Dollars.

I would have lost €95 euros from the online sale via a probably fake Dr Scholl France website.

Fraudsters would be dumb not to go for it because Dr Scholl apparently has several different websites and the confusion is already high.

Is there a place to report those fake sites?

Be mindful when using View Transitions in your design, they have a tendency for me, when they are large to trigger motion sickness.

There should be a monthly news about the interop progress for each browser but in one place. For example, CSS zoom has just been enabled in Firefox Nightly, STP 192 added support for View Transitions, CSS d path is being implemented in WebKit. etc. etc.

webarchive.org and browser bug trackers (attached files) contain a lot of the history of the web development practices across time. Retrospectively this is an invaluable resource to understand/remember the "obsolete" ways to make the Web.
