If you're a celebrity, don't just simply send your followers to "find" someone because she happened to be your fan when she was 10. My friend is currently being stalked and bombarded by strangers, and her Linkedin profile is shared everywhere. Unfortunately, she has to use Linkedin for work so this is making her highly uncomfortable.
Not all fans want to meet you, believe it or not!
@andycarolan how narcissistic must this guy be to think that it is appropriate to send thousands of people to hunt down a girl who sent him fanmail decades ago? Mind boggling
Stumbled on this: The murder of the socialite Abby Choi is something straight out of a Chinese drama. She once married into an average-income family. When she divorced her husband, she continued to support his family but when she decided to withdraw her support, her ex-family reacted rather violently. I believe that rituals like these is a way for an entire community to grieve and move on from a traumatic event.
Found Tony Romella & feel that he gets me. Even his #Obsidian vault is organised like mine! A totally underrated #PKM Youtuber with an ADHD bent.
ND folks do think very differently. For eg, I just can't do Tiago Forte's PARA system. I have this "out of sight out of mind" thing we #ADHD folks seem to have. If I stash my files in a folder, I forget it even exists. It gets worse if there are subfolders. Like Tony, I have a hybrid system & use notebooks. Coincidence?
@liztai thanks, I'll check it out! I have this weird mix of "I need to see it to exist" while also having the urge to "compact everything into boxes" both working against each other xD
It's funny how I wanted #Obsidian be my everything at first. I used it as a task manager, project manager etc. Now I've moved work-related stuff out of my vault. Now use my co's Confluence to store project & meeting notes for my knowledge base, and my tasks in Todoist.
My vault can now focus on what Obsidian does best - a #PKM note taking app for my passions rather than a productivity tool.
@liztai To be fair, of course, the flow varies each time. For example, I removed tasks from Obsidian to Todoist. At the next iteration I realized that it is more convenient for me to enter tasks devoted to work with PKM itself (like "rewrite this") back in Obsidian itself.
@msemochkin I use the Todoist plug in for that. Eleminates the decision for me lol. However, I am starting to favour a plain notebook for my tasks now lol
I think the scariest thing is I often use this particular monorail line. Usually on Wednesdays. If it had been tomorrow...
Unfortunately one person died in this incident 😔
@liztai There’s also a question of how they trim the trees too, and how the soil around the tree is maintained. It’s quite complicated; used to get a headache reading reports by certified arborists back when I was in civil service.
One of the tenets of building language vocabulary is to learn vocab that interests you. I notice I remember the words so much easier because of it. Here's a list of some words that my brain just 👀 when it heard them:
昏迷不醒 in a coma
法馆 judge
去世 died
方剂 prescription
@remoquete haha! I didn't expect that you'd be interested in my fluffy dramas, but do enjoy!
Btw am enjoying your posts on tech docs as always. Was wondering if I can drop you a message about technical videos and tools used. Currently we are using Camtasia but it doesn't seem enough 😅 Do you do any videos at work?
I've gone to the dark side. I got my first ever cloud storage/all-in-one subscription service - OneDrive and all it entails.
They should give @chungliwen commission money cos he convinced me lol. Next, Kagi!
I'd be willing to pay the price just for the storage alone. But Office as a whole is just so large. I have an older Surface Pro with only 128 GB. I need all the space I can get! I ended up downloading Word and Excel Mobile and also Libre Office which I go back and forth between.
