What’s up with 19.2 fl oz beer cans? I mean, I like the size, but it’s not an even amount of anything. It equates to 567.81 ml.

Yes, I know American units are wonky, but sometimes they’re weird because they actually equal to an even metric number. For example, they sell 16.9 fl oz water bottles because that’s a half liter.

So, what gives on the 19.2 fl oz / 567.81 ml measurement for these tall cans?

One thing that drives me batty is UI affordances that assume the user is new to the platform, not new to the account.

Example: Every time I hit the AWS console in a client account I'm treated to a bunch of "next next next next done" clicks about how it work.

@Quinnypig this is frustrating in your own account too. Rds console has to tell me every time that I can use Aurora, or why not try blue green deployments. Just like how the ec2 console doesn't remember your column settings. Aws needs to learn how to cookies

@qqmrichter @nikitonsky there's a small cohort of people actually terrified by the idea of workers getting paid at the equivalent level of the value they bring a business, rather than creating a machine where people have value willingly extracted from them to climb some invisible ladder, only egged on by the prospect that one day they too could be the extractor rather than the extractee

@Crell @webshinra @asgrim I tend to find when talking about a thing I like I don't need to criticise something nobody mentioned that I don't like. If the talk has the goal "why we migrated from php to rust" I guess critique of the former makes sense. Otherwise it's not necessary to criticise a tool however poor when discussing one not framed as an alternative. I'm really not sure which companies are out there debating rust Vs php!
