The Foundation's Managing Director, @josh, recently completed a migration from managed Matrix with EMS to self-hosting using the matrix-docker-ansible-deploy project. It was a tricky process, so we're sharing the details!

Whether or not you're migrating homeservers, or setting up a fresh homeserver, the matrix-docker-ansible-deploy project greatly simplifies getting started with self-hosting.

@jomo Cloudflare is currently part of our website deployment process and our CF account was unceremoniously frozen without notice. Unfortunately, given the timing, we don't expect it to be resolved until mid-to-late next week.

The @matrix is moving away from Patreon. But the interesting part is that they are moving to Donorbox with minimum donation of £5 per month.

I personally find this limit unacceptable and even too high. But the question is, would you donate £5 or more to Matrix?

@serebit @archlinux We share your disappointment–naturally, our staffers and colleagues were bridge users, too!

Our hope is that, as we address funding issues, we'll be able to invest more in public community bridges – but that may be a ways off, alas.

Has anyone written a "bot" that sends messages and doesn't just reply to them?
Ideally in Python.

All the libraries I can find seem to be exclusively for responding to messages/reactions, but I want the bot to send messages.

Maybe I mean "bridge"?
