There will be times when the struggle seems impossible. Alone, unsure, dwarfed by the scale of the enemy. Remember this. Freedom is a pure idea. #Abolition #Vegan #Anarchy Tyranny requires constant effort. It breaks, it leaks. Authority is brittle. Oppression is the mask of fear. . The day will come when all these moments of defiance will have flooded the banks & then there will be one too many. One single thing will break the siege. Remember this. Try.

American healthcare is so strange, bizarre and troubling. My healthcare has a “rewards program.” Rewards programs are offered by companies who overcharge and then pretend they’re giving you (your own) money back. I don’t want to know how this particular program works. That it exists at all, for my healthcare, is really fucked up.

BREAKING: Federal court greenlights destruction of

vows to appeal decision to U.S. Supreme Court

By Apache Stronghold, Censored News, March 1, 2024

WASHINGTON – "A divided federal court (6-5) today refused to protect an ancient sacred site from destruction by a multinational giant, putting the case on a fast track to the Supreme Court. In Apache Stronghold v. United States, a rare 'en banc' panel of eleven judges from the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that the federal government can transfer the Oak Flat to , a foreign-owned mining company that plans to turn the site into a massive mining crater, ending Apache religious practices forever. (Watch the short video linked below to learn more).

"The decision was by a bare majority, with five judges vigorously disagreeing and writing that the majority 'tragically err[ed]' in allowing the government to 'obliterate[e] Oak Flat' and prevent the ' from ever again' engaging in their religious exercise. With the help of Becket, Apache Stronghold has vowed to appeal the decision to the U.S. Supreme Court.

"Since time immemorial, Western Apaches and other native peoples have gathered at Oak Flat for sacred religious ceremonies that cannot take place anywhere else. Known in Apache as Chi’chil Biłdagoteel, Oak Flat is on the National Register of Historic Places and has been protected from mining and other harmful practices for decades. These protections were eliminated in 2014, when a last-minute provision was inserted into a must-pass authorizing the transfer of Oak Flat to Resolution Copper, a foreign-owned mining company that plans to turn the sacred site into a two- mile-wide and 1,100-foot-deep crater. The majority owner of Resolution Copper, Rio Tinto, recently sparked international outrage when it deliberately destroyed 46,000-year-old rock shelters at one of ’s most significant cultural sites.

"'Oak Flat is like to us—our most sacred site where we connect with our Creator, our faith, our families, and our land,” said Dr. Wendsler Nosie of Apache Stronghold. “Today’s ruling targets the spiritual lifeblood of my people, but it will not stop our struggle to save Oak Flat. We vow to appeal to the Supreme Court.'

Save Juristac too. Similar thing is happening in Santa Clara County, California. Developers want to exploit (& ruin) sacred Indian land but have been thwarted for years by activists. Environmental Impact Reports, with lots of public pressure, have paused development at Juristac (for now).

The most outlandish part of Ready Player One is the ludicrous premise that a video game could ever ship in the form originally envisioned by the game’s designer.

Here’s the deal: We stop shaming the poor for buying things that may not be essential, and start shaming the rich for making a profit off things that are essential.

    Israel has managed to get the world to suspend funding to UNRWA in Gaza after announcing that 12 employees of the UN agency were involved in the Oct. 7 attacks. For reference, UNRWA employs 13,000 people in Gaza.

    Meanwhile, we all continue to fund Israel despite scores of videos of IDF troops participating in abuse, extrajudicial executions, and looting.

    mishi,

    @mcnado

    Israel has shot Doctors Without Borders medics who wore bright orange vests. War crimes & genocide for years & years. Meanwhile the US gives Israel $9m/day. Our taxes fund genocide, not education, green space, water infrastructure, poverty or healthcare. Imagine what $9m/day would do in any of those sectors.

    Seeing a lot of people saying things like "why don't Americans protest more." I'm not exactly sure how to respond because:

    1. In 2020 America had the largest sustained series of protests in world history. Americans protest plenty.

    2. American activists are shot by police at a very high rate. Don't forget this.

    Americans protest at a very high rate already. We don't protest more because so many of us have been murdered and our police are very dangerous. Hope this helps.

    mishi,

    @sidereal

    A better question is, why doesn’t American media cover the important news events when people mass protest across the country? The answer is capitalism.

    To cover why people protest would mean a discussion of systematic failures. The media tells us that failure is an individual issue, “you’re the problem, not the system.”

    The US gives $9 million a day to Israel. You better fucking believe we are on the streets protesting. We the people do not support genocide.

    Very happy that UAW auto makers won their strike. But still unhappy that extremely over priced vehicles have surveillance tech built-in. And because of this, I may never buy a new car again.

    When Bernie ran for president, both times, media was not subjective. The media was hyperbolic & presented lies as truth. The media showed empty runways, waiting for Trump, rather than rallies where hundreds of thousands of people showed up for Bernie.

    The media does not fairly cover protests by activists. My family didn’t even know the occupy movement existed. We never hear about our wins. The media beats us down, while promoting fascists.

    In 2019 San Jose, California about 30 climate activists went to City Hall and protested. It was a HOT day. We laid on the ground and friends outlined our bodies in chalk, each of us chose a climate crises death. My dog & i died in wildfire.

    In response, San Jose refused to let us park in the free parking area & outlawed chalking the sidewalk. We were threatened with fees & fines.

    I lived in Malaysia for a year in 2010. I never saw a protest. But if the Malaysian government wants to take away universal healthcare, I hope that the Malay have the courage to grab their pots and pans and get out in the streets. (Can-lah ❤️)

    Before living in Malaysia, I lived in Canada. Another country with universal healthcare. I’m American, born in 1969. When I was a child healthcare was affordable in the states. But now it is not affordable.

    In the USA you have to have a job in order to have healthcare. Your healthcare is limited by your job. To save money, businesses give people terrible healthcare. We can only see certain “in-network” doctors. This creates long delays in receiving care. In addition, we also have to pay high monthly fees. But that’s not all. We also have to pay “co-pays” when we see doctors.

    My husband and I pay over $1000 USD a month for healthcare. When he broke his arm he was billed another $600. Every time we see the doctor we have to pay $20-$40 just to show up. Insurance companies change the rules constantly, so you never know what is covered and what is not covered.

    Insurance companies even make laws about “pre-existing conditions“. This means that if you have diabetes or another health problem, they can deny you health care. It bankrupts people. It also creates a society where people are not looking out for each other. People are competitive, because they have to be to survive. It’s toxic.

    So I really hope that the Malay activists let people know how terrible private healthcare is. It’s a death sentence. Universal healthcare deserves funding. It is the glue that holds a beautiful society together. Malaysia is an exquisite country. Malaysia is a jewel. Universal healthcare is a big part of that.

    Yes. Malaysia has corruption - border crossing guard stole $500 ringget when I crossed into Singapore. Packages I mailed to the states never arrived… The people were so kind though.

    The rando drug testing is really over the top. I had no idea Singapore did that.
