I think it's kinda funny how Mercer Island is assembled from three different maps
Seattle's map provides a flag grey expanse they barely bothered to label, King County's says "yeh there's some roads and a couple of parks I guess" and 2 Line says HERE IS EVERYTHING WE CAN FIND xD
seattle wanting you to know that they do not give a single solitary fuck about mercer island is hilarious to me
if anyone's wondering why the MEGAMAP tag is where it is it's because the King County chunk has some text under there that refers entirely to shit off map and would be a monumental pain in the arse to remove
but I still had to cut off a bit of the southernmost parts of Seattle to keep it square
kinda thinking of making an extra version that has the full Seattle map on the left and a bunch of open space centre and right, and labelling it "Here there be dragons, and also, Renton"
i suspect strongly this is another case of Only Funny to Moira but it is funny to me
I hope people get that Nikki Haley went over there to make everything as much worse as possible.
Those pics of her scribbling those obscenities on bombs will circulate for years.
This was intentional.
You get that, right? She's a former UN ambassador. Like Nixon sabotaging peace talks in Vietnam and Reagan working to keep US hostages in Iran, she knows exactly what she did.
This was intentional.
Biden's been pushing Netanyahu towards a two-state solution for months and despite the "Genocide Joe" crowd's crap, he's pushed back more on Israeli militarism more than any US president ever just by doing it at all.
This was sabotage. It was intentional. AGAIN.
DON'T repeat the same mistakes. DON'T reward it AGAIN.
There's ONE reason the US is so involved, and it's OIL. Until OIL is no longer the most important thing in the world, it doesn't matter what our "allies" do, because it's about power for access to oil.
If you want things to change, you've got to go about it by making oil not matter.
Happiily, that's also going at climate change.
Biden and the Dems managed the biggest climate bill in history, in the form of the Build Back Better infrastructure bill. But for the Republicans, it would've been much, much bigger.
What's Trump and the GOP promised on climate? To end renewables and go full-bore all-in on OIL, all for their fash oil backers.
This is how we won a lot of anti-LGBT ballot initiatives over the past few decades: keeping them from ever qualifying for the ballot.
Keeping them off the ballot keeps them from being money-makers, win or lose. These things are cash machines for the Christian authoritarians, fundamentalists, and fash, but they don't rake in the real bucks until the fall campaigns.
And if they can't make money at it, they tend to go off and find some other way to do it.
Lon Mabon, who made a career out of torturing queer people with public hate and initiative campaigns, built a whole family business out of it. And it worked great until we started keeping him off ballot.
That discussion on the ex- and long-term Microsoft group about Recall has gone pretty well but holy shit there are some panopticon parents out there who are just enraged at me
I mean I threw out the idea that a panopticon was bad and they were like NO it's GOOD and if you DON'T then you're UNCARING or LAZY or NAIVE
And I'm kind of trying to preempt the next stage which is "YOU SUPPORT ONLINE CHILD MOLESTERS!!!1!" and honestly idk if it's gonna work. Panopticon parents are creepy as fuck.
