Don't Panic (1987)

Looking forward to this. Demon Wind is so fun. These aren't really related, but whatever. I am all in for this.

I ALSO know the Alamo doesn't have a basement thanks to Pee Wee's Big Adventure

I saw the moon last night. It was a tiny sliver. I can't remember the last time I looked out at the night sky and saw the moon before last night.

Truth is stranger than fiction, says google, who can't really tell the difference between the two but has heard this said before so it must be right.

I love love love that Criterion Channel have showcased a collection of movies with Synth Soundtracks and there are so many bangers on this list!!

In my opinion you should watch the movie "Thief" https://mastodon.social/@onelson/112577141681889266

@mcc 1,000%.

From the commentary on the Criterion disc, apparently Mann had them pitch shift the diegetic sound of the city (e.g. the sound of car tires on wet tarmac passing by) to be "in tune" with the Tangerine Dream soundtrack.

Incredible work.

Batman (1989)

Been a while since I saw this one.
There are a lot of beautiful sets and light rigs in this one.

I still think it's funny, and a bit of a shame, that the Batman costume dictated much of Keaton's performance. Why'd it have to be so hard to move around in??

Batman & Robin (1997)

I'm not ready to start my hobby hacking for the weekend, but my pizza just arrived and I need a movie to watch.

I guess this will do.

Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace (1999)

Background TV as I wind down my work day.

I'll work my way through the main 9 movies over the next few days, and starting with The Phantom Menace might be sacrilege to some, but who cares.

Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back (1980)

I was going to use all special edition posters for these three, but the special edition poster for Empire sort of sucks compared to the original.

Glass (2019)

I enjoyed Split last night. Time to see how the 3rd movie works.

So, McAvoy's character goes through this transformation when he becomes "The Beast" and basically he's grunting and hollering and flexing. There's a shot where he's doing this but the shot is ultra-wide, like he's across a large parking lot, with so much space between him and the camera.

I love this because it's so like you just turned a corner on the street and saw some guy acting crazy, and you'd probably just cross the street to keep your distance IRL.

Picking my hobby game dev battles for this weekend.

I really want to do some animation system stuff built on aseprite, but if I want all the fun hot reload support I need to figure out how to downgrade my aseprite version.

I keep oscillating between game dev being easy and impossible.

My memory's not so good so I deal with this by making lots of lists. My to-do- list for this week has a line that simply says "f". I have no idea what this was. It's most likely that it was such a short-time task I was certain by the time I looked at the list next the lone letter "f" would jog my memory into whatever it was I was trying to remember but, I guess it's also possible I just literally accidentally typed an "f" when I thought some other window had focus and it means nothing at all

onelson,

@mcc I was reviewing the nonsense in my google docs and found a 5 year old doc titled "Software Engineer Telekinesis" and when I opened it, it was completely empty. I have no idea what happened.

I have served myself a double cheesecake portion, with fresh blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries. I have made myself a pot of half-caf. I'm rolling Friday the 13th (1980) and will continue to roll sequels until I'm ready to sleep.

Sometimes while watching a movie featuring Kevin Bacon, I wonder how load-bearing it is for people's "six degrees of."

How many people would no longer have linkage to Kevin Bacon if this movie wasn't made, or if he decided not to take the job?

The woman who plays Brenda looks so much like the woman who played that ADA in Law & Order.

I mean, not quite, but close enough I'd have guessed some relation. Maybe not. I don't know.
