I had been hearing what sounded like thunder, except it was continuous and steady for several minutes. The weather report just said partly cloudy. And a friend about 4 miles away could also hear it.

Husband took a walk around outside to see what he could learn. He overheard a neighbor on the phone and apparently a paint factory and gas station are on fire. We then started to hear the sirens of emergency vehicles.
