Apparently someone is threatening to have the instance I’m on defederated if they don’t get rid of me, because I posted that the Mastodon DM system is dangerously broken and non-intuitive.

Bluesky is going to skyrocket to mainstream popularity and actually replace Twitter, and Mastodon cannot, because Bluesky is being designed to be simple, fun, and — most importantly — easy to understand.

@codinghorror @gruber Depends whether you think the “online town square” idea is a good one or not. (Me: I think it’s good, important even. I’m confident the reasons Twitter was awful for some people were to do with Twitter-the-company’s poor leadership decisions and its closed, centralised nature.)

    Meet still won’t allow me to share an individual window (rather than the whole screen) when running in Safari (it works fine in Chrome.)

    Is there somewhere I can complain about this where it might, if not do some good, at least be seen by the Meet team? Their product is bad and they should feel bad.
