I'm bringing my dad to UCSF next month, to the eye specialty place on 490 Illinois street, but they don't have their own parking lot right now. They want us to park a block away. How the heck does that work with 2 octogenarians? Oh this is going to be fun.

Nice day at church. Pain meds kicked in enough to get there. Ran inside to venerate very quickly (with tight fitting N95 on) for 2 minutes 🤣! The thrill! Sat outside and talked to friends.
This increase in Sulfasalizine is giving me agita, and I don’t normally have a problem with acid reflux. Gotta tell doctor. I don’t like it. #psoriaticarthritis

Hi, I need a more Covid safe dentist in the north bay of San Francisco. I asked if mine had upgraded their air mitigation to more than just one purifier (as the reception office staff now don’t mask) and they are not nor will not.

I do plan on buying my own far UV but it would be nice to go to a place that understands this already.

I’m taking an Instagram break until after the holidays. You bastards are stuck with me though.

I’m having pain issues and need to self care. (I’ll be seeing my rheumy on the 21st, I can guarantee a switch in meds). I’m also needing to get more support in my life, both emotional and kindness, and possibly house help. But the latter is tricky in this pandemic.

Anyway, I’ll post some art later if I can.

Covid is increasing quickly in the East Bay and in the North Bay also, of the San Francisco Bay Area. Windsor just shot up 300 points and a friend in Brentwood got it from an elementary school grandkid. The Contra Costa map on wastewater data doesn't show it yet so I'm putting out a warning here.

Called a cultured marble distributor today, a local independent store. Said we needed to check out some samples. Asked if we could come right when they open, and if the floor person minded wearing a mask while working with us for the 20 minutes we were there.

Even mentioned one of the people is on chemo drugs.

I was met with hostility, attitude, and refusal.

They won’t be going on the local list.

This is what people like me have to deal with on a regular basis.

I've been sick of carrying large plastic jugs of laundry detergent. Hand/wrist arthritis and also just annoyed with the weight of it all due to the water content.

I planned on buying detergent sheets but just learned today that most of them have Polyvinyl Alcohol in them, which is a degradable form of plastic. How much of that actually degrades, I'm not sure.

There are detergent sheets that don't have that ingredient but they are a bit more pricey and I'm not sure if they are good.

I thought about switching to powder again, and finally, I found a recipe for making your own laundry powder. You mix Borax, Arm N Hammer laundry booster, and shaved laundry bar soap, stir together, and scoop. It can be kept in a container. So I just bought those ingredients online....my family is going to get a chuckle out of my grandma-era laundry routine but it will be fun to try it out. No plastic and cheap! Will report how my washing turns out!

Edit: also got Oxyclean so I'll add a bit of that too most likely.

I've started enjoying fish sopes from El Roy's taco truck in Santa Rosa. Delicious. They come with the queso fresco on top. Is all of that cheese sold commercially pasteurized? I'm newer to this, my Mexican food experience prior was mostly burritos and grilled plate stuff.

There is a cat sanctuary on YouTube called Furball Farms Cat Sanctuary, and we are just loving watching it. They are in Minnesota and broadcast every day. Imagine, if you will, over 300 cats in a gigantic building with an equally huge catio. Hardly any fighting, maybe just a sibling smack every now and then. They have beds and posts and special shelves with blankets everywhere. Sleeping in groups, playing, grooming each other. I’ve never seen over 300 cats, not in cages, just hangin out. It’s so damn peaceful.

Hey #SFBA …..I really miss North Beach. For my next run to the city, are there any areas on the outskirts of NB where you can find parking? I used to park up the hills there, in that quiet area above the main area. We are talking 25 years ago so who knows what is there anymore, I sure don’t. Walking is fine, not bringing the elders.
