Let me tell you what a difference it makes when a medical office understands virus protection and mitigation techniques.

I just made an appointment for my dad regarding getting his new teeth fitted, first time at a specialist. Geared up for the usual damn conversation with a place we haven't been to yet....and the receptionist knew exactly what we were getting at after half the sentence.

"Oh, we all mask in here, the entire staff, and we have air filtration and purification in place. I can get you in first thing before anyone and on a day when just one hygienist is here."

That's all I ask for from a medical facility. Just to understand this basic stuff.

On a different social media today, I was talking to newly C-virus disabled people, because they are angry about wasting 4 years of their lives waiting for people to give a shit.

I explained that they are not at fault for anything, either for "wasting" time (it's not wasted) or for failing to get the ableds to care (they did not fail).

This is something I've learned over 2 decades. There is no wrong or right in any of this. Do what you need to do, get angry when you want to, organize when you can, and rest often. But if I had one piece of advice it's this: don't expect people to care. Because they won't. Even after they get disabled themselves, many won't. Especially in America.

We have to fight hard. Often. I know it's not easy when one is disabled but that's where the buddy system comes in, you trade off with others when you run out of spoons.

Stop worrying about offending people too, by advocating for disabled rights and getting vocal.

Hey #SFBA …..I really miss North Beach. For my next run to the city, are there any areas on the outskirts of NB where you can find parking? I used to park up the hills there, in that quiet area above the main area. We are talking 25 years ago so who knows what is there anymore, I sure don’t. Walking is fine, not bringing the elders.

So, I want to ask people here: does everyone understand that being vaccinated for Covid prevents you from dying during the acute phase of the virus, but it doesn’t really prevent you from Long Covid? The only protection from Long Covid at this point is to not get infected from the virus, especially repeated infections.#Covid #longcovid

My local Press Democrat is finally publishing articles about the damage Covid does to younger people.

Even people who are younger face “about a 20% increased risk of heart attacks and stroke” within six months of a COVID illness, “which for people who are in their 30s and 40s is a pretty big increase,”

I'm just sitting around, waiting for my medical places to get some permanent mitigation in place.

Last eye doctor appointment, I'm good! The floaters have actually mellowed out quite a bit which was quick. I didn't think that would happen. He confirmed they softened around the edges. Interesting.

I asked for masks and they did, but it is a little sketchy now that the mandate ended. Luckily I have had all my regular check ups now except the dentist. I'm calling that super Covid cautious DDS next week, the one with the negative pressure room and everything. I'll let you North Bay folks know how that goes.

I wore a Readimask but in the lobby I thought, 'This is too comfortable, is it really an N95?' 😂 So I went outside and put my Aura on.
