I was looking for a 10th Fediverse instance to run, and I didn't have a Calckey instance yet.

The https://sharkey.world server is almost done. We now need branding (new theme and images). @vsp will be creating images like he did for :mw: (and others).

While it grows we will also do some tuning and tweaking.

I like the interface, so much even that I installed it on my personal server too (ruud.social)

If you want to try it, just create an account and play around with it.

And if you really like it, you can migrate so you keep your followers.

2/2 Sharkey is a platform like Mastodon, but with a very different look & feel, and other options (like quote posts, emoji reactions etc ). Some options that Mastodon has are missing, like following hashtags.

You can follow your Mastodon friends from Sharkey just as you can follow Sharkey users from Mastodon.

I see users complaining that the app for doesn't work for older versions of Lemmy. Which is correct.

Oh lol... I started https://photofed.world on a small server, it hasn't even opened for registrations.. But posting about it led to the box being overloaded instantaneously :-) Might need to scale up even before opening..

Nice, we upgraded https://lemmy.world to 0.19.3 finally. Seems to all have worked nicely, no issues so far. I don't like the yellow/brown color of new comments in the default frontend, but luckily I prefer the Photon frontend which doesn't have that (https://p.lemmy.world)

I have been asked if donations in crypto can be made to support mastodon.world / lemmy.world.
That's not a problem, but I prefer not to use Bitcoin, as that's bad for the environment with it's proof-of-work mechanism.

I've been using the Phanpy web-interface for Mastodon for a while now, and I really like it.

You can go to https://phanpy.social/ and sign in with your Mastodon account. It has a nice layout, multi-column view, and a new feature: Catch-up.

It's also very nice to use on mobile (as PWA).
And I also tested with #Sharkey and so far seems to work as well.

After 15 years of using an iPhone, I'm considering switching to Android. I've ordered a cheap Samsung just to try it for a while before buying a top-end model.
Let's see if I can get used to it.

(I'm also a Mac user so there will be some trade-offs..)

I really like the Busycal iOS app, does anyone know a good alternative? It syncs with my calendar & tasks on Nextcloud.

I've tried Android for 2 weeks on a cheap Samsung, and am getting used to it. Just a few things from the iPhone I am missing, but overall finding my way in the Android ecosystem. I really like how you can tweak the interface as you like it.

So now I've bought a S24 ultra, and so far loving it! Really good quality phone, and a bit cheaper than the iPhone I had.
