Hitler was sentenced to 5 years in prison. But he only served 9 months due to a sympathetic judiciary and massive public outcry from his political supporters. If that sounds uncomfortably familiar, it should.

Leave Google now and help others doing the same by:

  1. Switching #Duckduckgo or #Kagi (using !g if Google is really needed)

  2. Creating an email account on one of the many ethical alternative while asking gmail to redirect all email received.

  3. Trying @organicmaps and adding your business information on OpenStreetMaps (opening hours, etc)

  4. Creating a @peertube account on an instance and uploading your videos there

All those steps can be achieved by yourself, alone!

WOW this is incredible & terrifying.

Israel spent over a decade spying on ICC prosecutors to "retroactively investigate incidents of interest to ICC to prove Israel’s legal system is accountable."

Meanwhile Israel has banned all journalists from Gaza and has killed 100+ journalists. This is totally what you do when you're not guilty of war crimes.

How much longer will the USA, UN, & the world enable this injustice?

If your justification for the genocide of the Palestinian people is that what Israel’s doing is legal, may I remind you the Holocaust was legal too. Hitler was acting entirely within the laws of Nazi Germany while committing the genocide of the Jewish (and Roma, and gay, and disabled, …) people.

Legal does not mean moral, just, or right.

If something is legal but unjust, it is your moral duty to break the law.

No social progress has ever come about without moral people breaking unjust laws.

The problem? Big Tech is actively refusing to comply.

They've launched two new subscription plans which bring the costs down massively. Almost approaching Tesla Supercharger prices.

Euro road trips are going to be SO much cheaper.

We would be really cutting at the root of the pathologies that we are dealing with from the tech industry, which is this mass surveillance in the name of influence, influence to sell something, influence to convince someone to vote for something, influence to misinform someone. Ultimately, that’s the game."

The Murdoch family media empire's spying on British politicians and celebrities was almost certainly far, far deeper and vile than the public understands.

Brilliant reporting in the Prospect magazine by the reporter who originally uncovered it.. https://www.prospectmagazine.co.uk/ideas/media/phone-hacking/65918/the-murdoch-spy-papers

Meanwhile, the Murdochs relentlessly inject poison into the public spheres of at least three major nations, not least the United States. And other media still pretend it's journalism instead of rancid propaganda and slime.

The home of the 5000-year-old civilization, ancestors of most of the people currently alive in Europe, US, and all the way down to Iran and India, has finally been pinpointed in the valley laying between the Dniepr and Don rivers - just in the middle of Eastern Ukraine’s current battlefield. It was most likely a branch of the original Indo-European communities that lived in the Caucasian steppe.

From the Ukrainian steppes, these people spread throughout the whole continent within a couple of centuries, arrived in the UK about 4500 years ago, carried with them the language that evolved into the languages spoken by most of today’s people (from Latin, to Norse, to Germanic, to Sanskrit), the Y chromosome carried by most of men alive today, and probably also tolerance to lactose - and also susceptibility to genetic diseases like multiple sclerosis.

It’s sad to think that this may be the last archaeological finding in those lands for a while, as future archaeological missions will probably have to dig through km of landmines.

Designating an area safe for refugees and bombing it later is a war crime. Bombing a refugee camp is a war crime. Sniping children is a war crime. That your "activists" attack aid-carrying trucks and transports to block their access to the refugees is a crime against humanity. Israel is committing genocide.

It does indeed appear that Coimisiún na Meán has had its wings clipped by Thierry Breton. Ireland wanted to force tech firms to switch off toxic recommender algorithms by default but was prevented by the European Commission.
This is despite massive public support for the measure.
It was a clear choice. Breton could have given everybody the freedom to decide whether to switch these systems on or not. Alas, he has trapped us in a dystopic mess. https://www.rte.ie/news/business/2024/0527/1451373-online-safety/
