@risottobias I'm still under the impression that the "best practice" to hide versions comes from companies that need to hide their version numbers. The whole (be it problematic) "if you have nothing to hide..." mantra.
Turns out GitHub verification on Mastodon is as simple as adding a link to your profile in the "Edit profile" section (don't try to edit your personal README file, GitHub sanitizes your changes).
I love these small attentions to detail that GitHub devs think of.
