@maique I totally get it. For some reason I don't get ads if I'm using Brave, but whenever I use a different browser I just give up. Absolutely hate ads.

So, anyone else notice problems with counting your books wrong for the reading challenge? I just noticed because I mainly use these days, but I still add books as read in Goodreads.

Turns out, there are a couple of books I read this year that don't turn up in the Goodreads reading challenge overview, but properly show as read if I search for them. Bookwyrm is counting everything correctly in its reading challenge. Not that I care much, but this is the first year I've seen this happen because of my switch to Bookwyrm.

Este Last Week Tonight sobre chocolate é incrivelmente bom a explicar como controlar mercados. Há produtores que recebem quase nada, consumidores que pagam como se os produtores estivessem a ganhar bem, e quem tira proveito é quem controla o canal intermediário entre os produtores e os consumidores. Ou muito me engano, ou este é o princípio que rege muitos negócios hoje em dia. Olha o digital, as "app stores" e afins. Como é que um produtor independente tem hipótese?

When they ask "is there a doctor on the plane?", what do they expect them to do? Their carry-on isn't full of medicine and medical instruments. It's full of liquor and dildos like everyone else headed on holiday.

@dabertime had that last year, there were 2 doctors on the flight. From what I saw, they seemed to evaluate the situation and decide on the severity, I think the decidion on whether to keep going or divert was on them. When we landed, the ambulances and paramedics were at the gate. @the_etrain

Uma pequena parte da história de tantos, galegos e não só, obrigados pela miséria e pela ditadura a fugir para outras paragens. Migrantes económicos, pois, sempre os houve.
Quantas pessoas da minha geração foram criados por familiares, e viam os pais só no verão, com sorte também no Natal. Emigrados para França ou outros lugares, para ganhar a vida e sustentar os filhos.
Não foi assim há tanto tempo. Antigamente não era bom.

🧳 movieStar needed a new passport, we took care of that today. In and out of the passport office in 15 mins, no appointment, just walked in. Super nice lady too. When things work, it’s great.

Da minha experiência de gestão de hospitais privados, posso-vos dizer com o que contar:

  • só mantenho abertos serviços com procura suficiente para darem lucro;
  • os médicos de clínica geral têm sempre filas enormes, porque todos os doentes têm que passar por lá;
  • os VIPS passam sempre à frente de todos;
  • os funcionários (todos) são pagos o mínimo possível para não se irem embora;
  • as férias dos funcionários são o mínimo possível; /1

Há coisas que só quem tem quantidades obscenas de dinheiro há-de perceber. Ter tanto, que oferecer apartamentos não tem significado para quem doa.
