Another ‘85-‘86 classic. This record and band mean the world to me. Marking a time and place in life where some worlds hadn’t drifted so far apart. INXS - “Listen Like Thieves” and “Kick” perfect alt/modern rock and roll. Hutchence had all the swagger. A top front man as it gets, ever.

I am begging people, talk to your artists that you appreciate.

Give them some encouragement. Tell them what you love. Gush a bit even.

If it wasn’t for some random DM in my inbox this morning, I’d be taking my internal compulsion to close up shop a lot more seriously tonight than I am.

Artists are tired, exhausted even.

I am lucky to do this as a glorified hobby.

Others’ abilities to get bread on the table depend on coin that isn’t coming in.

Don’t leave words left unsaid as well.

@etherdiver @jessica I think it can be intimidating for fans of artists. I also think fans put artists on a pedestal and don’t think of them as normal human beings struggling to make it like everyone else. Once you break that wall down, giving some love to people inspiring you is a simple thing. Now I just wish those artists will tell me great job as I push into 25 years in the insurance industry. 🤣

As I work into talking about my record collection, I’m starting back at the beginning with albums and artists that shaped my journey to where things stand today. Another pivotal record was Gap Band - “IV”. A top 5 all-time funk/R&B band. The intro synth on opening track “Early in the Morning” continues to influence my musical explorations to this day. Of course you know “Dropped a Bomb on Me”, but don’t sleep on “Outstanding”, another monster groove classic.

    @flockofnazguls just finished another viewing of season 1 last night to catch up on connections to season 4. S1 is one of the best shows ever. Amazing.

    Finally watched the Zappa documentary. Enjoyable. Sent me down a rabbit hole, incl. researching Zappa / Phish stories. Saw this absolute gem by Scoot430 on PT. 🤣🤣 my man knows what’s up.
