Hi @mollyim i recently switched from signal to molly amd noticed the same donation request with the "not now" dark pattern. Could you change this to a no or integrate the option to stop it coming back? I dont mind a donation request and i dont mind donating. I just dont like it ignoring my decision nor to donate while i'm trying to use the app.
@mollyim@abroad_octopus ah ok. Given "not now" is associated with repeat activity, I assumed Molly had just replaced the Signal element with it's own and that it would come back. Given it's a dark pattern, there are probably better ways to do this. I'd be happy to look into it and submit a patch if that's helpful?
@stevelord@abroad_octopus Thanks for the offering to help, but we'll handle the change ourselves. Originally, the button said "No thanks", but it was changed not sure why. We're reverting it back to the original text.
@gsuberland I can see the attraction, but I lack the spoons. But also remember a large portion of those enraged fanbois are 3 fucked-over youtubers in a trenchcoat.
@stevelord I must admit to finding it endlessly amusing when fossbros scream about Microsoft, DRM, binary blobs, NDA'd stuff, closed source hardware, companies exploiting open source, etc. and in the next breath fawn over RPi stuff.
Home alone for a week and lots of local people kept asking if I was OK cooking, as thoughi cant. Made bread earlier and spaghetti aglio I olio for dinner with fresh garden parsley. Nobody died, although I'd understand if Italians were upset with my creation.
The #thinkpad t42 SSD arrived, so I installed it, got dos 6.22 working and now win3.11. Office 4.3 is blazing fast. Only issue is no power management so the fan is on full pelt.
Our forest garden isn't just for us, it's for all the animals and insects, and plants that live there. We use sacrificial plants and trap crops, not even using organic weedkilling techniques like nematodes or soap sprays.
Looks like a new #nix fork is about to drop at https://aux.computer/. They're still figuring whether to migrate away from github. Hope it works out either way but freeing themselves from the grapple of Github, even if it's using folders would be better than staying there IMHO (which doesn't mean much tbf)
