@DrALJONES Israel has been like that for many decades. My dad stated the same back in the late 60s, I witnessed it myself later. I’m Jewish. Israel means nothing to me. It is a far right country imposing apartheid. Most Israeli youth hold far right views. Dissident Israeli scholar Nurit Peled-Elhanan’s academic study, “Palestine in Israeli School Books” is essential reading for anyone who wants to understand some important realities about the Israeli state and Israeli society.
@Lassielmr@DrALJONES I can only agree.I once lived in Israel, and loved it. I was a beneficiary of the apartheid system, but never even noticed it. It took me some years to wake up to the disastrous human rights practices and right-wing extremism of the State, and to accept the reality of its blood-soaked history.. This acceptance was made harder by having to take a stand against some people there for whom I have great affection.
@DrALJONES Many of the non zionist Jews have been leaving for decades as the zionists keep moving in. The non zionists have been sick of living in a crazy religious nation and it just keeps getting worse.
