@Vivaldi @robertlogger there was a good reason for me to ditch googles free Gmail for a subscription on a 'local' server.

We have to get used to pay for the things we want to use. Basically there is no free ride in the world. Everything we use has a price. We have to choose how we want to pay..

@Vivaldi they feel they loose the iron grip they had over customers and businesses through Google Play and native apps. I guess that they are looking for a similar, firm grip when that grip is no more and we have webapps thriving on the phone and desktop.

@Vivaldi honestly, since they somehow managed to rebrand Google Drive into Google Drive (yeah, I don't get it either) and making it a terribly heavy software, that Chrome reinstall no matter how many times I get rid of it or remove write rights to everything for that folder? I cannot describe Chrome as anything but malware. As opposed to a second, different browser from the main one you use, Chrome shouldn't even be installed. Worse than buying a laptop and finding McAfee.

Besides ABC, Steve Jobs looks reliable despite being dead, and Suckerberg seems almost competent.
