@GottaLaff
I think there is a solution but I never looked at doing it international.

I went traveling for a year through the US but my prescriptions had to be done in California. So I subscribed to postscan which did mail collection, forwarding and scanning. It was like ten or fifteen dollars a month. I could have them scan things that looked important or forward things like prescriptions.

There are several different companies doing the same thing and they use places like office max to the small little local mailbox places. You can set it up on your current town or the nearest one to you across the border.

No matter how well I learnt to mask, no matter how well I learnt to get on with people, if not in any deep and meaningful way, at least superficially. There has always been one skill that I have never mastered and that is simply the ability to not upset people and especially without having the slightest idea how.

Or that I didn't for a long time, anyway. It was only when I realised that I was autistic and that the way I looked at the world was in some ways substantively different from the way many allistics looked at the world, that I began to understand something. Allistics tend to find validation externally, through feedback from the group or the part of society that they identify with, whereas autistics tend to find it within themselves, in their own reason and sense of worth and value.

Now I must stress that in many respects this is a generalisation and obviously there will be a lot of variation and degree in how true this is. But in its more extreme forms, it could very well explain many of the experiences and difficulties that I've had.

Because if someone's self-worth, the value they see in their life and actions, is almost entirely based on their interactions with the dynamics of the group they identify with, or the society they live within and not from their own judgement, then this could lead to certain choices and reactions that are quite frankly alien to someone like me and that I could easily end up in conflict with and all without really trying to.

For example, if the value of a child reflects back on its parents. Then in the extreme case the values and behaviour expected from that child, are not those of the child, but of the parents in terms of the group the child is meant to be representing them in and how well it is doing that. So any sense of divergence from that or criticism of that child, no matter how slight that might be, could easily be seen as an attack on the parents and reacted to accordingly, irrespective of how reasonable or just it was.

Equally, of course, worth, praise, or rewards, can also become divorced from any sense of reality. All that matters is that you, whether that's through your children or not, are being valued, not whether there is any justice to it. Because the truth or validity of it, is not based on how you see yourself, but only on how others see you. And in the extreme case, it doesn't even matter how they came to this view, as long as they have it. So worth can become something to be manipulated and played for and how you really are and how you actually feel about yourself becomes almost irrelevant to this process.

That people could even be this way, that everything could become how you're being perceived and anything that effects that negatively can be something to be attacked, is still something that I struggle to understand. It is so foreign to my nature. But, it certainly explains so many of the times that I've upset people, because I wasn't playing this game, or seeing the world the way I should and didn't even realise it.

    The Tale of Two Gynecologists

This is a bit long, and I've talked about this a lot lately, but it's something I'm thinking about a lot in the wake of so much hatred of female Healthcare. When my female troubles got bad enough that I finally talked to my doctor about it, he referred me to a gynecologist. I had already had several ultrasounds and an MRI at this point, and she had put me on some oral contraceptives for several months, (which made sick to my stomach no matter what I did) and had just done another ultrasound. She greeted me with "Well, you're really messed up inside, Honey.", which already had me pretty stressed out. Then told me I would probably need surgery to figure out exactly what was going on. She then asked me if I wanted children, and I said No. I had taken my husband with me to the appointment for moral support, and she glanced over at him, and then talked to me for 5 minutes about how many women my age could still have children, and I could definitely consider it, and that they would do everything they could to make sure I could stay viable. They could freeze my eggs if I had to do a hysterectomy, just on and on. She probably asked me directly 4-5 if I was sure I didn't want kids. Finally, I said, "Ma'am, my husband got a vasectomy over a decade ago, we are absolutely sure we don't want kids." After hubs had found me crying on the toliet, because my period was late again, he went to his doctor and said, "Hey doctor, I'm thinking about a vasectomy." The doctor gave him a pamphlet to read, and made him an appointment. The whole thing was done in a few weeks.

Anyhow, she finally referred me to a gynecological surgeon, and I was not looking forward to dealing with this again, and was just generally terrified of having surgery for the first time. I met with this woman and she was so efficient and practical. It is the longest doctor appointment I've ever had, since this surgery would be exploratory, she went over every possibility of what could happen when she was inside. She did a thorough exam, she went over all the scans that I had, and explained why she thought this needed done. Then she said she would like to put in a Mirena IUD during surgery. She said, "You're in pain half the month, and there's no reason for you to have a period if you don't want to have kids. You'll have some erratic bleeding for six months, but by a year most women have a very light or no period at all, there's no reason for you to needlessly suffer if you don't end up needing a hysterectomy."

It's interesting to me still, that one doctor was so focused on what my body could do, and another so focused on how I felt. I came out of the first appointment feeling scared and confused, and the second feeling heard and cared for. Feeling valued as a person and not a baby maker made the surgery much easier to go through, and the Mirena has been great btw. Women don't have to needlessly suffer.

Sharing my experience which definitely is not as bad as yours.

Women's health care is so bad and women doctors barely improved it. I was done at menopause at 40 and never once had a conversation about menopause. I had all female Drs and at a certain point they determined I was seeking pills (please note I have taken a max of three pain pills in my life. I am saying 3 to cover history when I only remember 1.)

Then they took an fish test, told me menopause was complete and that was all my conversation about menopause.

With that said I used to follow an ob/gyn on the bird site named Jen Gunter. She insists that there is no biological need for a period if not trying to get pregnant.

She has a book called "The Vagina Bible"

I have two daughters. One we wanted to control her period for one month so we could enjoy watersports on a vacation. It was complicated for us to get bc and use it as we desired.

My second daughter has the arm implant and hasn't had a period in 5 years. Yah!

We were poor and my mom was divorced in the early 70s. Part of us being poor were limits such as my mom could no longer work once pregnant and couldn't get credit without a husband. I was taught other people were having babies to get higher welfare payouts so they didn't have to work.

By the time my husband left me with 3 kids and no job, if I had chosen welfare as my lawyer suggested the amounts would not have covered my utility bills and transportation. Welfare could not help me get back on my feet, let alone survive. My child was disabled and I was still nursing. Yet putting a 2 year old and 3 year old in full time daycare was so expensive. (I didn't realize, lol, that the 16 yr old stepson could have used daycare too.)

When it comes to awareness and false stereotypes an important topic is autistic woman that were ignored to exist for a long time.

When people talk about that they often refer to "female autism" or "female representation". That often focusses on higher level of masking and deep compensation in social skills.

I find that sometimes irritating because I kind of see myself in that description. On the other hand there are woman that show rather stereotypical traits.

Hi. I would like to join this conversation. I am a mid fifties self diagnosed in the last year.

My knowledge is limited so please give me grace and an explanation if I say something offensive.

I went to college 20 years ago and don't remember exact details of topics, just generalizations and I acknowledge research may have changed.

My major was human development with an emphasis on women's studies. I believe many studies showed explicit differences in how male and female children are raised and mentored especially in schools. Women and men teachers both held girl students to one standard and boys to another. Boys more often shouted answers, even wrong answers and were encouraged. When girls gave a wrong answer they were treated as stupid and experienced more shame. Minority children were more likely to be punished harshly for minor infractions compared to white children.

If I am correct and I believe I am I think the shame factor and punishment factor

Trump's NSC aid Robert C. O'Brien's testimony may be the last puzzle piece. Any other witnesses may be targets. Specifically, the people who knew force or violence was contemplated & agreed to it because they were going to be placed in high-level positions in the dictatorship.

    1. When this was happening my first thoughts went to "what's the plan? If they stopped the count that might jam up Jan 20 but it would not create a basis for Trump and Pence to remain in power. Their terms would end at noon and nothing could stop that. So what was the plan?

    2. I am as convinced today as I was then this was the plan: VP Pence was removed from the Capitol. Grassley tipped his role in the coup that was reported the day the planning was complete.

    3. Then the coup leaders made him change his story less than 24 hours from the execution of the coup.
