The impact varies significantly between developed and developing countries, with poorer countries bearing a disproportionate burden.
@Climatehistories - so if a 19% loss over the next 25 years equals $38 trillion, they're saying the remaining 81% we actually do get is $162 trillion. What is the worldwide annual income now? Without knowing this, it's hard to put any of this into perspective. For example, we can't tell if they're saying the world income will continue to rise, just more slowly than it otherwise would, or actually fall.
@johncarlosbaez I 've checked it out of curiocity. According to one website (Statistcs Time) in 2023, the GWP was estimated to be around $104.48 trillion in nominal terms. Not sure how reliable is this number though.
I couldn't find any information that shows what the annual worldwide income is in real terms, but it must be significantly higher than the nominal value.
@Climatehistories - My searches for the world total income also led me to statistics about the gross world product. But I think they're very different - if only because this paper is saying the total worldwide income for the next 25 years will only be $162 trillion, while we're seeing the gross world product was about $104 trillion last year.
I didn't get much clarification from the paper you're talking about, at least not yet.
