There's something deliciously karmic in the massive, unprecedented storm caused by #ClimateChange hitting #Dubai. It covers so many bases I don't even know where to begin enumerate them. But one I just discovered is that the city is hosting in a few days the #WorldBlockchainSummit, the “longest running” #crypto#scam#shilling summit. The only way it could have been even more meaningful would be if the was some #AI bullshit going on too.
Some people will find the above post a bit callous and insensitive, I expect. «people have died! Billions in damage!».
Yes, and, more people have died building this affront of a city than have been killed by the storm. And the billions in damage are for the most part to luxury shit that wouldn't even exist in a just world. I don't consider that particularly a loss as much as an imperceptible nudge towards balance.
And for better and for worse, more of this is coming.
