@atomicpoet “Hence the impossibility of meaning in the literal sense of a unilateral vector that goes from one pole to another. One must envisage this critical but original situation at its very limit: it is the only one left us. It is useless to dream of revolution through content, useless to dream of a revelation through form, because the medium and the real are now in a single nebula whose truth is indecipherable.”

It took 4 years to get the phone i paid for from these guys. When it comes to ethical business, perhaps these guys aren't the best models.

Stop bullshitting people. I have no respect for people who lie about their intentions.

Admins here are power hungry pieces of shit who want to control what we see.

This is becoming a fucking cult

No, not at all. Feel free to share it!

I've been trying Kbin more the past couple days, and I'm really liking it a lot more now that I understand what's going on. Seems like it might be helpful if there was a quick (optional) onboarding process for new users to point out the basics of the interface and how to find content.

Definitely a cleaner feel and the instance is performing better than the lemmy one that repeatedly timed out

I fear with a lack of a mobile app, kbin isn't going to catch on right now. I'm signed up at both kbin and Lemmy, and while kbin seems superior - I'm more inclined to use Lemmy right now because of the jarboa app.

Oh, that is good news! I can see Kbin being the next Digg>Fark>Reddit iteration with a working app and 3rd party app support. I'll check back soon. Thanks for the link.

Yep, I saw Mozilla do this, signed up for the waiting list. Probably isn't a single solution to the idiocy going on at Twitter, but it's worth exploring multiple alternatives until the best of them (probably will be more than 1) come out on top.

Even Tumblr has its good sides, honestly. It's bounced back from being basically a porn-sharing social media to being an actual social media competitor.

I agree on Tumblr. I was quite active there circa 2007-2009, the porn ban happened and a lot of people left. Came back to it recently looking for a less toxic way to explore the nerdy, fangirly things I enjoy as opposed to aimlessly scrolling posts about other people's lives and feeling bad and it's been amazing.

Also particularly exciting given that it should be rolling on to the ActivityPub protocol at some point too.
