But i think reddit users would need more help to make the switch as most of them may not know about the alternitives of reddit ( #lemmy & #kbin ) and sometimes choosing the right server for them & learning the basics of the fediverse may be hard for current reddit users.
@mastodonmigration so I have kbin (on fedia), how do I get started and “join” the subreddits I want to (if they’re on this list). Some are lemmy links. Argh this is confusing..
@erv on kbin (either kbin.social or fedia) you can access a magazine (subreddit) by using the /m/ url. for instance: kbin.social/m/gaming. for communities from other instances like lemmy, you need to put the url like an email address. so kbin.social/m/gaming@lemmy.ml. If the community is already synced you can check https://kbin.social/magazines to simply search for it like normal. if it's not showing up via these two methods you need to use https://kbin.social/search to search for it (again making sure to use the community name along with the @url).
