I have a LOT of interests and hobbies, many of which make their way here. But I've been ramping up my songwriting and music production, and plan to increase the sharing, promotion, and marketing around it too.
So my struggle is: do I create a new profile JUST for my music? Tricky because I have a lot of followers right here who are into music, but maybe the ones who aren't don't want to hear about it all the time.
@killyourfm here's someone with too many band pages. 😂 If you think you have a decent audience here, and you're not sure how steadily you'll work on that, create profile later.
You can always create profile now if you want to use it for some kind of progress diary.
I try to steer off additional profile creations until there's something viable to be presented and that is not one song.
@killyourfm this is why the Mastodon needs topics. When you follow a user you can follow all (default) or some of their topics as checkboxes. So you only see things you're interested in.
@killyourfm Like the others said: Just start out with sharing here and down the line you can make a poll to see how many people want you to continue posting. Muting via tag or a separate account could be an option later on :)
