evoterra,

I may need a little bit of .

I’m considering migrating backwards from Firefish to Mastodon. The “why” doesn’t matter. It’s something I’m contemplating for reasons.

I’m currently using to run my single user Firefish instance, and my plan is to use them (or another) to host my single user Mastodon instance.

Same domain, btw.

I can’t find any info on this reverse migration. But it’s gotta be possible, right?

The easiest way to do it is to use a new Internet domain name for the Mastodon server.

And then go through the Migration protocol that both Firefish and Mastodon support.

...

If you want to use the same Internet domain, it is a bit more complex.

You would have to first migrate to a temporary account on another server. Then, change your server from Firefish to Mastodon. And then migrate back from the temporary account.

If you reach out to @spacehost_help , they should be able to help you with it.
