President Jimmy Carter is said by his family to be in his final days. My heart goes out to his loved ones and to our nation as a whole, who will have lost a good and decent man. Let his example be a beacon of hope, and let us all exhibit the kind of selflessness, compassion, and kindness he exuded all his days.

@georgetakei if only he had been given the chance, with a second term, to really show the world the best of the USA, instead we have been shown the selfish money grabbing side, of the USA. It behaves like a spoilt child, ruining all our homes.

@georgetakei As a Scottish citizen I am saddened to hear this news that President Carter is nearing to the end of his life. In our days of corrupt power hungry politicians who thrive on sowing division we need the example of leaders like him who remained decent and compassionate. My thoughts are with his family & the decent Americans who will feel his loss.

He won't go down in history as a great president, but James Carter walked it like he talked it. Rare in a human being. Even more so in a politician.
@georgetakei President Carter was the first president I voted for, and I did it again the second time around. My heart also goes out to his loved ones. His is a remarkable life.
@georgetakei President Carter basically warned us about the climate crisis 45 years ago and was mocked for it. The chattering class of 1978-79 should be deeply ashamed for doing that.
