That, over three years into this, folk are still complaining about the discomfort of earloops—unaware that better designed masks use straps behind the neck and head, so to get a better seal (that is, better protection)—is a testament to how effectively basic public health communication has been left to DIY word-of-mouth.

But then, folk still complain about their glasses fogging, also, so obviously the memo that a respirator works best when it has a proper seal… hasn't gotten wide dissemination.

@beadsland You would be surprised at how many health care workers have asked what kind of mask I am wearing (Aura n95) because it looks more effective than the loose surgical masks they are provided.
Although, I'm guessing you are not surprised. And now most of the healthcare workers are not masking at all.

@AlwaysInFlannel @beadsland auras should be free at hospitals and travel stations/airports. Very effective and much easier to breath in imo
