@DemocracySpot Come work in infosec where everyone derisively refers to every sport as sportball (with the exception of a few soccer fans).
People look at me suspiciously if I have advanced knowledge of a home sportball game. But I need to know if the sportball fans are going to descend upon and ruin my otherwise OK town.
Good for you, OH. I went to ONE game at East Carolina Uni, so not a complete virgin, but that one game was enough. It's not the game itself but the "culture!" It's a "Game Day" today, and while it's nothing like the widespread, obsessive live-posting on the birdsite, there is enough to remind me I'm not a fan.
Started to post a story about when/why I became disinterested in/began to hate football, but decided to wait. I've outlined a multi-post thread for next weekend.
@DemocracySpot also as someone who lives in the UK I too have learned it's best not to show disinterest or dislike for Football (soccer).
I don't really care for team sports at all. I get my Tribalism fix in other ways but some people just cannot understand why I might not enjoy 'the national game'.
