@georgetakei I rarely support wars, least of all the kind the USA gets in. But ukraine I'd support as there is a very clear right and wrong, and it involves the unilateral and unprovoked invasion of another nation.

@georgetakei Unspoken is the fact that we're basically fighting a proxy war again here, just not directly American soldiers on the ground this time. They've managed to sow a lot of confusion, misinformation, etc etc, but make no bones about it, Russia is one of America's chief enemies right now and probably the one most directly hostile towards us even taking effectively direct acts against us.
Helping Ukraine is helping the US, the EU, and really most of the world.
@georgetakei unfortunately the United States only maintains its “core principles” when it suits them.
They abandon those principles depending on how the political winds are blowing. If it suits to be the aggressor the USA will take that role on, disregarding sovereignty in the process.
This is true for many countries and is not unique to the USA.

@georgetakei It is not true that Russia alone has the power to end the war immediately. If the USA transfered to Ukraine 10 hydrogen ICBMs capable of wiping cities like Moscow and St Petersburg off the map, the war would end immediately? What are Putin’s options? Once a country has big nukes you cant attack them so it becomes a cold war standoff with no shots fired instantly.
@georgetakei Same old platitudes do not equal a "powerful speech". The most truthful statement of all was from Mitt Romney. "Supporting Ukraine weakens an adversary, enhances our national security advantage, and requires no shedding of American blood."
