Today, a prosecutor announced that Georgia State Patrol SWAT troopers Brylend Myers, Jerry Parrish, Jonathan Salcedo, Mark Lamb, Ronaldo Kegel, and Royce Zah will not face charges for killing #StopCopCity protester Manuel ‘Tortuguita’ Terán on Jan. 18.
Stone Mountain Judicial District Attorney George Christian, assigned to carry out an ostensibly independent investigation into Terán's death, ended up repeating the same claim the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) has pushed since 1/18 - that Terán fired at troopers first.
While the GBI & Georgia State Patrol (GSP) - and now Stone Mountain DA Christian - have declined to release evidence actually proving that Terán shot first, what primary source materials that have publicly surfaced outside of GBI's control tend to contradict this narrative.
I wish they’d do something about all this cop on cop violence. We need to cease policing until we can figure out why all these cops are shooting at each other.
