Please don't let your off-leash in areas where it's not allowed. It's incredibly unsafe for your dog and also very, very triggering for people who are afraid of dogs and constrains their ability to be out in public.

The newest of my Decay Theory articles just went live on Atlas Obscura! In it, we explore the struggling town of Gary, Indiana to determine how a once-thriving city winds up with over 7,000 abandoned buildings. It's an important story, not just for Gary residents, but for many American towns facing similar issues.

The "news" that Pizza Hut is firing their delivery drivers because California is raising their minimum wage is such an obvious PR lie that I'm disgusted. Back in March 2020, I was called “the boy who cried wolf” by a friend because of my early warnings on . (Three weeks later, events and offices started shutting down rapidly--the wolves had arrived.)

Today, I continue to warn about COVID's spread and long-term health risks. I'm not the boy who cried wolf, but the person pointing out the wolf is slowly and secretly stealing health, wellness, and longevity from many people.

    Went to get a Covid booster yesterday at Walgreens after my wife made us 5:30 pm and 5:45 appointments for a shot. Showed up on time, only to be told they didn't have me in their system.

    30 minutes later, it dawned on them that maybe I'd never filled a prescription through their system before. Turns out, even though my wife had filled out all the right forms, they had a pile more forms for me and proceeded to ask me a bunch of personal health info in front of a long line.

    15 minutes later, and 45 min after my "appointment" they were still registering me in Walgreen's system. I left because we also had a dinner reservation a few minutes after that.

    Hard to believe they're only just figuring this out. Nobody is going to bother at Walgreens if it's this hard.

    @briankrebs I would hope that most people would avoid Walgreens because of the company’s anti-choice practices, but if it takes their ineptness to make some folks back away, that’s ok too. There really isn’t any bad reason not to patronize them.
