Yes, but solarpunk specifically refers to a genre of stories.

I'm not talking about "just stories" (and yes, I'm saying that as a writer who is hoping that stories can change minds and thought patterns).

I'm talking about sharing things that actually happen in this world - yes, they would be part of solarpunk tales, but we need to build the hope here and now, even for people who don't read.

I want to create the sense that a better future is possible.

@Firlefanz Oh, but it doesn't! At least - it's not just that :) It's also a movement in activism.

Here's a first sentence from the manifesto:
"Solarpunk is a movement in speculative fiction, art, fashion, and activism that seeks to answer and embody the question “What does a sustainable civilization look like, and how can we get there?” "

This hashtag is used very much for real solutions and possibilities.

Thank you.

That is very good to know. But for general activism, I'm not sure it's a good hashtag - it IS a bit obscure for people who are not into spec fiction.

But nothing speaks against using both. So I'll do that in the future.

@Firlefanz Both the hashtag and the term work great in the community and are not an easy find for people who don't know it, that's for sure.

But it can help show your posts with good solutions to more people who are already interested in creating a better future right now :)

I believe we need all the people, all the ideas, and all the points of view to build a good liveable world for everybody. And I do believe we need all the cooperation we can get :)

And competition can retire along with capitalism and toxic pollution ;)

I'm aware of 3GoodThings - but those are basically personal successes and self-care.

GoodNews sounds good.

But I want to be more specific. I want to talk about building a future that is better than what we have now. Better for all humans and nature, a step away from capitalism and profit (which are destroying our world). A future where people and nature matter more than economical growth.
