Should the default behavior in Drafts syntaxes be to strikethrough completed task lines?

@agiletortoise
It might be a consideration for accessibility to change the default when high contrast is enabled to check that the type change still gives the appropriate contrast.

I prefer graying out w/o strike through since I can more easily read it. Gray italics might be better.

@agiletortoise Greyed and crossed out is the One True Way™

spoenle,

@agiletortoise Absolutely and unequivocally:Yes.

wightwizard,

@agiletortoise Yes, please!

@agiletortoise yes 🙌 maybe you can provide the other option (depending on what will be in the release) as a syntax for download with the same name so it replaces the default (if thats possible?)

Geoffairey,
@Geoffairey@mastodon.social avatar

@agiletortoise I don’t think so, for me the x in the box shows it’s completed.

@agiletortoise No. The checkbox toggle is great, the graying out is nice but possibly a usability issue, but at least have an option to disable the strikethrough.

@agiletortoise

I like it! I would also prefer if the blue checkbox got greyed out when checked too.

ethanweed,

@agiletortoise Yes please. Or maybe I can already set this somehow? In which case, I don’t care.

@agiletortoise yes. i’ve been missing this...

And, of course, the answer is clearly, 100% yes or no.

@agiletortoise The way I use completed items in Drafts lends itself to either. In Obsidian, I’m picky about this behavior, but I was going through something just yesterday and I actually thought about the fact it doesn’t strike through and how either behavior was cool for me in Drafts.

longfy,
@longfy@mastodon.social avatar

@agiletortoise yes. Strike through please

boxspring,
@boxspring@mastodon.social avatar

@agiletortoise I like this. If it’s an option, I don’t care if it’s the default or not.

@agiletortoise No thanks. Nice to have as an option but not the default, please.

@agiletortoise Yes. Thanks for asking.

robbyburns,

@agiletortoise I like it.

mikesax,
@mikesax@mas.to avatar

@agiletortoise Can you do a very subtle cross-out, with 20% transparency?

mikesax,
@mikesax@mas.to avatar

@agiletortoise And if you really want to have fun, make the line a curve instead of a straight line.

agiletortoise,
@agiletortoise@mastodon.social avatar

@mikesax strike through is a font attribute. Not something with granular control.

ct,
@ct@social.lol avatar

@agiletortoise I don’t like crossing things out that way in case I need to refer to something I’ve already done

But if I can change the default behavior I don’t care which is the default

cchowds,

@agiletortoise Grayed out or crossed out are great. I use the Simple List + syntax for this.

soypunk,
@soypunk@friend.camp avatar

@agiletortoise that would be lovely. i have to double scan todo lists currently because I don't visually parse the x status on the first pass.

joesteel,
@joesteel@duck.haus avatar

@agiletortoise Nah, the graying-out is nice though.
