If you want to, there's an option on Mastodon to hide your followers and follows lists:
Log in through your server’s website
Click on "Edit profile" if you’re on desktop website. If you’re on mobile website click on your profile icon in the top right corner, then Edit profile.
Click on "Privacy & Reach" tab
Scroll down to "Show follows and followers on profile", UN-tick this box
Click "Save Changes"
You will still be able to see your follows/followers, but no one else will.
