@atomicpoet I'm honestly not sure why any Apple fans took this position, outside of just being convinced Mac's must be good for literally everything. High-end gaming has never been a selling point for Apple products.

By "high-end #gaming" if what mean is high energy/CPU/GPU consumptive gaming then they are probably scared of customers being disgruntled by hardware that breaks down earlier than expected?

So they engineer a "#ComputerSaysNo" situation for it?

We think such expensive gaming is probably better relegated to a separate machine than the "family" computer, but we might be in the minority on this thinking.

@dsfgs @bcdavid High end gaming really just refers to supporting a discrete GPU. And Apple simply doesn’t want to support this.

No, I don’t think consoles are a good option, especially with how locked down they are. Their library isn’t very good, and backwards compatibility is terrible. You also have to pay for basic things like online multiplayer.
