My Asian brothers and sisters! My African brothers and sisters! Lo and behold, our Chinese relatives have given words to our feelings about white people food:

Truly, this is the food of suffering. Eating food without spices is worse than not eating at all. Either way you will die, one just feels longer, that's all!

Ever since I first started eating white-people-food (i.e., when I went to a country full of them, and there was no escape down to the local kopi tiam or street food), I have labored to bring white people's attention to the curse that is their food. What kind of eating is this? Eating for the sake of suffering, is it? Dui, le, this kind of eating can bring suffering, ony! Good taste and happiness can not bring!

@thepoliticalcat It was once a thing to curse someone to "live in a world with only British chefs".

gorfram,

@thepoliticalcat @LifeTimeCooking Every so often , I think about an instruction I read in a White People Cookbook in the early 1970s, for adding garlic flavor to a Caesar Salad:

“(Optional) Rub the cut face of half a garlic clove over the inside of the salad bowl.“

A note advised not to do this if any of the diners might need to avoid the smell of garlic on their breath.
