@BlackAzizAnansi The executives that are making these "strategic decisions" are the exact same ones that complain that employees aren't loyal to the company.
@BlackAzizAnansi "it's not based on your performance at all", might feel like a nice thing to say on the moment, and might be the actual truth, but surely if she worked her butt off for this job, learning it didn't make the slightest difference when company reassessed its "strategy" will certainly have an impact on her strategy about investing her energy into her next role… fool me once…
@BlackAzizAnansi
There really needs to be a law about not being able to fire people who you have move to the position for like a year at least if it has nothing to do with their performance.
Like, there's also a hundred other things that should also be done to prevent companies from mistreating their employees like this and all the other ways corporations currently get away with shit.
UNIONIZE. this wave of layoffs actually started in 2019 after Google workers tried to unionize and another set blew the whistle on AI. then the pandemic happened and the firings stopped.
these layoffs and all the bullshit hype about AI ARE about unionization.
been saying to developers for over +30 years (was married to one for 20 years) they need to unionize.
with a corporatist controlled Congress, now it's clearer than ever Silicon Valley needs unions
@BlackAzizAnansi Did they make it the full 3 months or were they an 89 day wonder? Where they keep you on for 89 days, just before company benefits kick in…
@rosanita@BlackAzizAnansi it was not a coincidence that she was let go just days before the company would have had to deal with unemployment considerations , benefits like insurance, and payment.
