Some on Mastodon just love to take a tiny sliver of good news and turn it into doom or cheap shots.
I’m done w/ people who do that.
I’m fine with genuine RATIONAL POLITE disagreements or criticism. I have to point that out since I’ve been accused of/blocked for intolerance of diff opinions👈🏼which I’ve always welcomed
This is about mudslinging, labels, name-calling, misinfo, & disdain for scarce positives & replying w something designed to provoke &/or kneejerk-negate welcome news. Kthxbye.

This is one of the reasons I stayed off social media for so long. So far, it's been a pleasant experience here. But my internet mantra for many years now has been, "arguing with idiots makes you and idiot", so I choose not be an idiot.
@GottaLaff This cry of “foul,” my opinions are being blocked remind me of politicians and pundits who are “silenced” for sharing lies as though they are truth. I want to say, “Oh, honey, it’s not your opinions that are being blocked. It’s your lies, your misdirections, and your bullying.”
@GottaLaff for real, it’s maddening. The most self righteous among us can’t help themselves with their commitment to never ending snark and doomsdayism.
@GottaLaff the problem is that when your online persona is dedicated to pessimism and skepticism, you’ve got no answer when presented with a ray of light. All of those people desperately need a dog and to get out and touch grass. And their response is always dripping with condescension. Tbh, it must be so exhausting for them.

@Phreba Thanks. Plus, This isn’t about opinion, it’s about my posting actual factual good news and people dumping on it. It’s not about me. It’s about kneejerk hot takes that are meaningless and destructive to the general psyche here. @tuban_muzuru

@GottaLaff I'm very positive about you and your posts. I just hope you'll forgive me for chopping them up and reposting the pieces. There's a couple generations out there now without the attention span required to grasp and integrate your information (TL;DR). So I'm using your material back to you in bitesized, replies.

@GottaLaff It's maddening. And part of what makes it so maddening is the apparent assumption that there isn't a real person behind your posts so it's ok to just trash and smash.
But I appreciate that you keep posting in the face of this.
